To make a registration please read the following information and click the "Online Registration" button below. Please follow the instructions on the registration page and enter necessary information to proceed with your registration.

Deadline: 5:00 p.m. Sept. 21, 2017 (Japan Time)

Online registration for the Symposium, Banquet, Excursion, and Accommodation is available until 5:00 p.m. Sept. 21, 2017 (Japan Time). After this date, registrants must register and pay fees on-site. Please note that registration will not be completed without its payment.

Registration by phone or FAX is NOT accepted. You must have a valid e-mail address for Online Registration. All communication with regard to your registration must be sent via e-mail. Kinki Nippon Tourist Co., Ltd. (official travel agency of ISSS-8) is available to assist you with registration.

Name Badge

On registration, each attendee will receive a name badge. You are requested to wear it permanently visible at the symposium and all related events.

Conference Bag

Participants will receive a conference bag, containing the printed program of the symposium, the complete abstract book in a memory stick (USB), a name badge, and other useful information.

Welcome Get-Together

A welcome get-together will start at 17:30 on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017 at ESPOIR, the restaurant in the congress center. It is free for all the participants of the symposium.

Banquet

A banquet will start at 18:00 on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017 at Okura Frontier Hotel Tsukuba. The excursion buses will bring you to Tsukuba Center (near the banquet place) after the excursion.

Excursion

Excursion tours will start after the morning sessions on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017. Several buses of three different courses will depart from the symposium place and, after excursion, the buses return to the Tsukuba Center (near the banquet place) before the banquet. All Excursion bookings are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tokyo Sightseeing Guide

We organize a one-day trip to Tokyo for accompanying persons on Oct. 24. Currently a tour is planned to visit Ginza, Odaiba, and Asakusa but it is flexible along with the participants' requests. Please let us know your requests via the Remarks field in the registration form. If we could gather enough number, we will arrange the trip and send the detailed information to the participants.

Notes:

We may not be able to comply all of your requests.
The tour may not be held if the number of participants is too small.
We merely introduce a volunteer guide for your trip. The participant has to support his/her own expenses, including the transportation fee.
Be warned that we are not able to take any responsibility of troubles, such as robbery, lost, and accident, during the trip.

Childcare

We will prepare a childcare room in Tsukuba International Congress Center during the symposium period. The cost is 500 JPY per hour and children under 12 years old are eligible to participate. If you would like to use the childcare service, please contact (isss8@sssj.org) by the end of August, 2017.

Accommodation

Room rates are only available for Oct. 22 - Oct. 25 inclusive. Nights outside these dates can be requested in the Remarks field on the registration form but cannot necessarily be guaranteed at the same rate.

Payment

For all payments made through Online Registration must be completed in Japanese Yen (JPY) by credit card or Bank transfer. Neither checks nor cash are accepted. On the other hand, at the onsite registration, cash and credit card are accepted. Your registration will be completed after the payment.

Confirmation

Attendees will receive a final confirmation by e-mail within 2 weeks before the conference. Please present this confirmation at the Registration Desk at the conference venue as proof of your registration.

Change & Cancellation

Before the deadline, you may change and cancel your registration freely, i.e., you can cancel any reservation or registration with no charge. All the paid fee will be refunded on cancellation. After Sept. 1, 2017, early-bird registration fee will NOT be refunded. After Sept. 21, 2017, online registration site will be closed and all fees except for accommodation will NOT be refunded.
To change or cancel your registration after Sep. 21, 2017, a written notification should be sent to Kinki Nippon Tourist by e-mail (isss-8rgst@or.knt.co.jp).
The date and time of the change and cancellation will be based on the working hours (Monday through Friday 09:30am-5:30pm (Japan time) except national holidays. After working hours, cancellation will be made on the next working day, which may incur charges.
