The 9th International Symposium on Surface Science (ISSS-9) will be held
from November 15 to 19, 2020 November 28 to December 1, 2021 in Takamatsu, Kagawa, Japan. This symposium is the 9th in a series of international symposia organized
by The Japan Society of Vacuum and Surface Science (JVSS). The symposium
will highlight recent achievements in surface science and its related fields.
Because the properties and functionalities of the materials under external
environments are mainly ruled by "surfaces and interfaces", surface
science plays an essential role in wide sectors. Discussion on the above
mentioned major topics with interdisciplinary studies as the future directions
of the fields are strongly encouraged. |

| Important notice |
As we announced on this web site, we have been prepared the ISSS-9 meeting
as a hybrid of on-site and online, expecting face-to-face communication
as much as possible. We appreciate close to 400 abstracts' submission.
The acceptance notice has just been sent.
But considering the still continuing COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to hold the ISSS-9 as an online-meeting.
Oral presentations are expected to be performed at real time (or on-demand
(recorded) if requested). Poster presentations are requested to present
at real time through the breakout sessions of zoom. The detail instructions
of the presentations and the program will be announced on the website before
the end of this month.
We would appreciate your understanding and contribution to the conference.
